Scott Marshall was apprenticed to the Leach Pottery, St.Ives from l951 for 5 years. In 1961, he set up a pottery at Boscean with Richard Jenkins. They built a large oil-fired kiln, similar to the Leach Japanese climbing kiln.

This used to hold 1,500 pots - mainly ‘oven-to-table’ ware. Now Scott works alone, on a smaller scale, using mainly ash glazes on his ‘oven-to-table’ ware. He continued in the same tradition because he enjoys making pots that have a useful purpose. He now only sells direct from the shop at Boscean, enjoying contact with people who like his pots.

Beth Marshall’s photographic cards of local land/seascapes are also available.
