The Old Manse, originally the home of the Minster of the Historic methodist Chapel in Chapel Street is now the home and work place of artist Maggie O’Brien. Trained at St Martins, Camberwell and Wimbledon Colleges of Art, Maggie works in all media to produce lively and atmospheric landscapes and still life inspired by Penwith and the Isles of Scilly.
Along with paintings, drawings, limited edition prints and cards Maggie also does project based work using text, sound and installation as well as drawing and painting. She is currently engaged on an environmental project working with drift plastic retrieved from the beach at Priest Cove which she documents, draws and uses to make constructions, collage and 3D objects.
Maggie exhibits in galleries throughout the UK.
